Lush Me

Welcome to my obsession
Anyone who knows me, know that I am totally and utterly OBSESSED with Lush. So this page is dedicated to my obsession. Here is where I will indulge in talking about all things Lush, for now let me try to articluate just what it is that has me so hooked.
Before I discovered Lush I was never into cosmetics at all, apart from a short period I spent as an Avon lady. I occasionally spent money on moisturizers that did nothing, toners that made my skin explode in blotches and turn sore and red, creams that made my skin feel sticky and face packs that did nothing at all. Baths were a regular occurence but for the sole aim of getting clean and brought little enjoyment.
Then one day, Leanne took me to a store called Lush. The smell was pretty overpowering when I walked in and she showed me the Bubble Bar slices they sell. She made me smell the Creamy Candy, which she loved. Hmmm, yes, smells ok I thought. But really I thought it was a bit gimmicky.
Then I turned round and saw a display of solid perfumes. I picked one up called 'The Olive Branch' and smelt it and OH MY GOD. I bought the perfume and later Leanne suggested we have a pamper party there. You paid £20 and were given a facial and a hand or foot massage, then you were allowed to spend £20 in the store and were also given a free goodie bag!!!! HOW was I supposed to resist that??
We went to the store and the staff were amazing. They told us all about the product, I was introduced to the ballistics, the face masks, the lotions, the soaps smelt amazing. I spent my £20 on some solid shampoo, solid conditioner, soaps and sold massage bars. I took it all home, along with my free goodie bag. I couldn't believe how generous the samples we were given in the bag were, and I started using the products. I remember feeling amazed at how good my hair felt after the first use of the products and I found myself falling in love with all the amazing products and wanting MORE!!!

Here is a picture of the first picture I took of my Lush collection, less than a year ago....

And here is a picture of my stash today.....

The thing about Lush is the products actually make a difference. I've managed to develop a skin care routine that actually keeps my skin looking healthy. My hair has gone from knotty and unmanageable, and tied back most of the time, to smooth, shiney and in the best condition its ever been in. The creams and butters make your skin feel as soft as silk, and not sticky at all and everything smells so good!!!
So why then did I not jump as soon as Leanne handed me the Creamy Candy bar? Why did I not fall in love as soon as I had my first sniff? It turns out that Lush do a fairly large range of sweet, candy scented products and these are the very products that I like the least. Since then I have found a plethora of scents that have blown me away. I prefer the earthy, musky scents that are created using base not essential oils and as an aromatherapist, these scents just make my head spin.
I'll be writing more here about Lush products, doing mini reviews etc. In the mean time have a look at my youtube channel. I'm often making videos of baths cocktails  and reviewing certain products, so take a look at them!

Much Lush,
Kez xxxx
